This innovative drug carrier is based on the pioneering material, amorphous mesoporous magnesium carbonate (MMC), which was discovered by the research group headed by Maria Strömme, professor of nanotechnology at Uppsala University.

Disruptive Pharma has refined the basic platform for use in pharmaceuticals, which goes by the name Pharma-MMC (“pharmaceutical grade mesoporous magnesium carbonate”). Pharma-MMC is a safe and soluble drug carrier that enables amorphous stabilization of drug substances, patented formulations and improved performance.
