Solibro AB was started in 2003 by Professor Lars Stolt and some of his employees at Uppsala University’s Ångström Solar Center.
The goal was to commercialize a special technology for developing and manufacturing solar cells based on a material called CIGS – Copper Indium Gallium Selenide. The CIGS modules consist of thin films applied to glass. The company was acquired in 2012 by Hanergy, one of the world’s leading thin film solar power companies.
